All international students
must have active accident/sickness insurance while attending Palomar College.
The policy must fulfill specific coverage requirements, including
"Repatriation" coverage, and have a claim number in the US.
Students must provide proof of a continuing active policy
covering the entire semester before
registration or classes will be dropped. Students may purchase a policy designed
especially for international students in the Office of
International Education.
If you chose to locate your own policy, it must be
paid for the entire semester and fulfill the
following minimum coverage requirements:
medical benefits of at least US $50,000 per accident or
illness
a deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
claim office in the USA
expenses associated with medical evacuation of the student to
his/her country in the amount of
$10,000
repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500
If you have
any questions about the acceptability of a certain policy,
please contact the Office of International Education prior to
purchase.
