ESL Classes

Note:  These classes are available for International Students who have already been accepted to Palomar College and have received placement through the ESL placement test.

The Academic ESL program offered by the ESL Department is designed for students who want to earn an Associate of Arts degree, transfer to a United States college or university, or for those who intend to work in a career that requires advanced English skills.

Reading and composition courses stress academic English used in a college setting.  International students may be required to take one or more ESL classes before they are eligible to enroll into English 100, the English composition course required for an Associate degree or university transfer.
