Admission Requirements

  *  Due to the visa application process at the U.S. Embassies and consulates, overseas applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.

 

 

The following documents must be submitted to the Palomar College Office of International Education before the application deadline date to be considered for admission to the International Student Program:

 

Completed Palomar College International Student application
Passport size photo
Autobiographical essay
Financial statement showing at least US $15,600 *(please see below) (issued within 6 months of the start date of your chosen semester) in the name of your sponsor
Statement of Support (filled out and signed by sponsor, if any)
One of the following score reports to satisfy the English proficiency requirement
* TOEFL: 470/PBT, 150/CBT or 47/IBT
* IELTS: 5
* STEP (EIKEN): 2A
Proof of high school graduation and complete, official transcripts from all high (secondary) schools, colleges, and any US language schools attended
Letter of reference from an instructor at your last school
Physician's verification of Tuberculosis clearance (from within 3 years)

 

If you are a transfer student from within the US, please include the following also:

 

Photocopies of all I-20 forms ever issued to you, I-94, current F-1 visa, and passport ID page
Transfer Eligibility form from your current school verifying that you maintained your full-time status and are eligible to transfer to Palomar College (including SEVIS release date)
   
If you are currently in the US on a non-immigrant visa, please include photocopies of your I-94 card, current visa, and passport.

   All applicants to the Palomar College International Student Program must fulfill one of the following requirements:
   18 years of age with proof of high school graduation in their own country
-or-
   16 or over with proof of high school graduation and local guardian in the San Diego area (parent or guardian signature on K-12 form required)
 

   All students, at the time of registration, will be required to present proof of active accident/sickness insurance.  This may be purchased through the International Student Office during Orientation.
 

   All documents used for application purposes must be in original, official form and be in English.  Please note that certain documents have a time limitation.
 

  All documents submitted for application purposes become the property of the Palomar Community College District and will not be returned or copied.  Please keep copies of all documents submitted.
