Community Service Officer, P/T, Student/Temporary: Palomar College Police Department is recruiting individuals to fill several part-time, temporary Community Service Officers to assist with building security, traffic control, motorist assistance, writing reports and other public services as needed at the San Marcos Campus and Escondido Center.  Applicants must complete an approved Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) background investigation including a DMV check, possess a valid California Driver’s License and be registered in 6 or more college units at Palomar College.  Pay rate is $10.00/hour (incentive pay will be added for possession of a valid CPR card).  To apply, pick up an application from the Palomar College Police Department office at the San Marcos Campus or Escondido Center.  For more information, call (760) 744-1150 ext. 2289.

Police Dispatcher, P/T, Student/Temporary: Palomar College Police Department is recruiting individuals to fill several part-time, temporary dispatcher positions.  Applicants must complete an approved Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) background investigation and be registered in 6 or more college units at Palomar College.  No experience is necessary and minimal qualifications apply.  Pay rate is $12.00/hour.  To apply, visit the Palomar College Police Department Office, located at 1140 W. Upward Bound Tutor/Mentor: Applications are being accepted to work with the Palomar College Upward Bound (UB) Program during the Fall 2006 semester.  The goal of the UB Program is to assist first-generation, college-bound and/or low-income students enroll in and graduate from post-secondary institutions.  These college-bound high school students need assistance after school and at their high schools located in Oceanside, San Marcos, and Escondido (Oceanside High, El Camino High, Mission Hills High, San Marcos High, Escondido High, Orange Glen High, and San Pasqual High).  Assistance is needed in academic subjects such as: upper level Math, Biology, Chemistry, English, Writing, Literature, History, Foreign Languages, and many more.  Qualifications include: the ability to serve as a positive role model, subject expertise and proficiency, reliable transportation, and must be available to tutor at school sites during the following hours:  Mondays - Thursdays from 1:30pm – 7:00pm and/or Saturdays from 8:30am – 3:30pm.  Pay rate:  $8.00 - $8.50/hour.  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  Federal Work Study/Cal Works are encouraged to apply!  Applications are being accepted via email request to ootanez@palomar.edu and are available from the Upward Bound website at  www.palomar.edu/upwardbound or by contacting the Upward Bound office.
