Astronomy: The Earth,
Space, and Aviation Sciences Department is accepting
applications for a part-time teaching position in Astronomy
for the Fall 2012 semester. Minimum
qualifications: Master’s in physics, astronomy, or
astrophysics OR Bachelor’s in physics or
astronomy AND Master’s in engineering,
mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics OR
the equivalent (candidates applying on the basis of
equivalency must submit the Palomar College Equivalency
Qualifications Form that is attached to the application
form). Preferred qualifications: A
Master's degree in astronomy or astrophysics and
previous experience teaching astronomy at the secondary or

Borrego Springs:
Palomar College is currently seeking qualified part-time
instructors to teach Counseling, History and Psychology
classes in Borrego Springs. Classes will be offered in the
late afternoon (approximately 3:00 – 5:40 pm).
The
minimum qualifications for each discipline are as
follows:
Counseling:
Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology,
counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational
counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and
family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling,
OR
the equivalent.
History: Master’s in history
OR
Bachelor’s in history
AND
Master’s in political science, humanities, geography, area studies,
women’s studies, social science, or ethnic studies
OR
the equivalent.
Psychology: Master’s in psychology
OR
Bachelor’s in psychology

Master’s in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social

Nursing (Lecture): Part-time instructors
who are knowledgeable about the nursing process and care
plans are needed to teach several lecture courses in the
Nursing Education department during the Fall and Spring
semesters. Instructors will teach 2-6 hours during 1-2
days per week. Minimum qualifications:

Master's degree in a health-related field is required; a
Master's degree in Nursing and previous teaching experience

part-time instructor. Duties include supervision and
assistance of 10-12 students on clinical units, counseling
students, grading care plans and papers, and writing student
evaluations. There are 10-12 hours of clinical a week
depending upon the course.
Minimum qualifications: A minimum of a B.S.N. degree and
clinical experience on Medical Surgical units within the
past 5 years. Previous teaching experience and
knowledge of the Nursing Process and Care Plans are

Duties include supervision and assistance of 10 students on

12.5 hours of clinical a week. Minimum
qualifications: A minimum of a B.S.N. degree and
clinical experience in a Psychiatric setting as an RN within
the past 4-5 years. Previous teaching experience and
knowledge of the Nursing Process and Care Plans are
