 Grant Opportunities

The College is pleased to announce a grant opportunity, funded by the Chancellor’s Office with one-time funds, that is open to all academic and classified employees.  Eligible projects must include one or more of the following elements:

- Improvement of teaching

- Maintenance of current academic and technical knowledge and skills

- In-service training for vocational education and employment preparation programs

- Retraining to meet changing institutional needs

- Intersegmental exchange programs

- Development of innovations in instructional and administrative techniques and
  program effectiveness

- Computer and technology proficiency programs

- Courses and training implementing equal employment opportunity and upward mobility
  programs

- Programs designed to develop self-esteem

 

Any Palomar College academic or classified employee may apply for a grant.  The Staff Training and Development Committee will review all grant applications and recommend the application funding amount (fully funded, partially funded, or not funded).  Grants will be considered until the one-time funds (approximately $87,000) are committed.

 

Application Instructions:

 

1. Complete the Grant Proposal form (can be completed online).
2. Print and submit to Human Resource Services by the application deadline of
   Monday, November 3, 2008.
3. Grant proposals will be assessed by members of the Staff Development and Training
   Committee based upon the Grant Rubric.
