California is a most unusual state in terms of both its geography and geology. We have the lowest, highest, hottest and driest points in the 48 contiguous states (and they're all in the same county!!), the tallest trees, oldest trees, and biggest trees on earth, the world's longest active fault, several active volcanoes, incredible waterfalls, dramatic coastlines and a host of other spectacular landscapes. All of these are discussed in the course.
