Field Studies

Geology 195, Field Studies, is offered as a 1-, 2- or 3-unit course at various times. The course is offered only in the field.

We currently offer extended trips to:

Eastern Sierras (1 units, 4 days)

Death Valley (1 unit, 4 days)

Other/New/Experimental Trips (1-3 units, 4-12 days)

 

Generally, the courses are set up as a roadside geology tour of the area listed. Students are responsible for their own expenses, transportation, food and camping gear.

It is highly recommended that students have previously taken a geology course such as

Basic Geology,

Geology of the National Parks or

Geology of California.
