The program, designed to create a pre-college culture in middle schools and high schools throughout the San Diego North County area, works with students seeking to graduate from high school in 2021 and 2022 – with a few aims in mind: to help ensure that more students are prepared for and enrolled in the college of their choice and are ready for any post-secondary education or a career.
With a plethora of workshops for students and parents, in-school and after-school tutor and mentorship opportunities, summer programs and college field trips for kids looking to get a head start on their college ambitions, the GEAR UP program is here for you.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Palomar College GEAR UP Partnership Program is devoted to enhancing a college-going culture that will increase the number of students from Escondido Union School District and San Marcos and Vista Unified School Districts who are prepared for and admitted to post-secondary institutions. By building a network of support comprised of schools, parents, business and the community, we are committed to empowering ALL GEAR UP students for success via these four pillars:
