I graduated from San Jose State University with a major in Home Economics specializing in Clothing and Textiles.
Subsquently, I completed a fifth year and recevied a lifetime secondary teaching credential. After working and teaching in Northern California for 33 years, I moved to San Diego and applied for job in the Fashion Department of Palomar College in 2006.
My interest in sewing and fashion construction has led me to study with some of the leaders in the profession, including Kenneth King of FIT, Claire Schaeffe, Connie Crawford and Susan Khalje. Last year I traveled to Italy to visit the tailoring school of Brioni Fashions, recognized by the industry as producing the most beautifully tailored fashions for men and women. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with all of the students in my fashion construction classes.
