Board of Governor's Fee Waiver

BOGW is a state sponsored program which waives enrollment fees for qualifying students.  Health and other fees may also be waived under this program.

Application Process  ~  Don't Forget!  Method B Applicants Must Attach A Copy Of Your 1040 Federal Tax Return,  All Applicable Tax Schedules  &  W2's To Your BOGW Application Form

To apply for the BOGW, you can submit an online application or a paper application to the Financial Aid Office.   California residents have various methods to qualify.  Eligibility is determined within 3 business days.  Please note: you may be required (all paper applications) to provide benefit or income documentation.  Follow the instructions very carefully.

Method A:

Is for students receiving cash assistance from: TANF/CalWORKs, SSI/SSP, General Assistance.  Proof of benefits dated within the last 30days must be submitted to verify eligibility. Recipients of BOGW A will have their enrollment, health & student center fees waived and may purchase one reduced rate ($20/semester) parking permit.

Method B:


Is for low income students.  It is based on the previous year’s income.  If you do not meet the independent criteria (see BOGW application for criteria), you will use your parents income to qualify. 
Recipients of BOGW B will have their enrollment and health fees waived and may purchase one reduced rate ($20/semester) parking permit.

 

Method C:


Board of Governor's Fee Waiver (C) eligibility is determined by filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application.  Once we receive a valid SAR (Student Aid Report), you will automatically be considered for a BOGW.
Recipients of BOGW C will have their enrollment and health fees waived and may purchase one reduced rate ($20/semester) parking permit.

 

Special Classifications:

Is for dependent students of qualified Veterans, Congressional Medal of Honor recipients; Victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack; and deceased law enforcement/fire personnel killed in the line of duty.  Proof of eligibility from the appropriate agency is required.   

Only enrollment fees will be waived.  Reduced parking permit rate is not available.

VERY IMPORTANT! -  It Is Your Responsibility To Contact The Financial Aid Office After 3 Working Days To Check On The Status Of Your BOGW Application
