Federal Work-Study Information
|
What is Federal Work Study?
The Federal Work-Study Program is a
Federal Financial Aid Program offered at Palomar College. Students must
apply and be eligible before starting employment. The award is earned
through part-time employment on campus. The federal government funds 75%
of the program and the district funds the remaining 25%. Please note that for
the 2007 - 2008 year, the 25% district match has been waived due to the college's
designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

|
How do students apply?
The program is need based.
Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
each year and answer yes to the Federal Work-Study question on the form to be
considered for the program. There
is no guarantee that a student will continue to receive work-study awards from
one year to the next. Students
should complete the application process early to be considered.
FWS funds are limited.
