General Financial Aid Information
What is Financial Aid?
Financial Aid is money available to assist students with the costs of attending college. Financial aid includes fee waivers, gift aid in the form of grants and scholarships, and self-help aid such as the college work study and student loan programs. Funding comes from both the federal and state governments, the college or university, and from private donors in the form of scholarships. The U.S. Department of Education has a Student Guide which provides greater detail on Federal Student Aid. Additional information about State Student Aid is available from The California Student Aid Commission.
