  • Academic Pathways In Music: "Academic Pathways In Music" for all music majors. Both Palomar and High School students. Registration deadline: April 18, 2014. Please see website for more information and to register online, Free Food, free t-shirts, free ticket to the Palomar Symphony Orchestra's evening concert and pre-concert activities. General informational sessions on the major-specific coursework for vocal, instrumental and composition tracks required for music majors at most institutions. (including Palomar College) Presentations on careers in music, the Audition and building a composition portfolio. Opportunity to perform individually for music faculty. Meet with music area advisors to explore options in academia: conservatories, universities. Opportunity to speak with current Music majors at Palomar College. Register for summer music classes. Tours of the Palomar College Performing Arts Department classrooms, computer music lab, practice and rehearsal rooms and the newly renovated Howard Brubeck Theatre.   • Spring 2014 Political Economy Days: Spring 2014 Political Economy Days. The purpose of Political Economy Days, now in its fourth year, is to broaden students’ exposure to political, economic and historical topics. Lectures on a variety of topics feature faculty from Palomar College, Mesa College, CSU San Marcos, UCSD, and other colleges and universities and will be held during regular class time.   • Concert Hour: Neave Duo: Anna Williams, violin; Mikhail Veselov, cello : Currently in residence at San Diego State University as part of the Neave Piano Trio, these two fine musicians step outside their duties to present an exciting program as a string duo. Hailed by critics as an “up-and-coming ensemble” (WQXR Radio, New York City), praised for its “heart on-sleeve performances” (Classical New Jersey) and nominated by the Boston Phoenix as the “Best of Boston”, the duo will present works by Beethoven, Handel-Halvorsen and Glier.
