Course Description:
Marriage and family life is of great significance to us all and is currently undergoing dramatic changes in our society. This course is designed to help you better understand these changes and many of the issues in marriage and family today through a combination of a television video series, textbook reading and campus seminars.

Course Requirements and Grading:

Video Viewing:
You are expected to view each of the twenty-six video lessons in the series and write a video evaluation of 10 of them worth 10 pts. each. They will be due on the first class meeting after they have aired on television. A sample of the form to be used for these evaluations is provided with your study guide.

Seminars:
The seminars will consist of lecture/discussion and review before the exam. You will receive 10 participation points for each seminar you attend.

Exams:
You will be given five exams covering the material covered in the videos, the text and any additional material presented in class. You may use the study guides provided to help you in your textbook reading. Each exam will be worth 100 points and you may drop your lowest score.

Grading:
Grades are based on a percentage of total possible points. Your grade will be determined by the number of points you earn.
