Counseling
Specialized
counseling for EOP&S students focuses on academic planning, financial aid,
transfer readiness, career exploration, and personal counseling. All EOP&S
Counselors possess a minimum of a Master's degree and are trained specialists to
assist students who face multiple challenges in achieving their academic goal.
Some of these challenges may include being a single parent, living on a limited
income, returning to school after a long period of time, being the first person
in their families to attend college, or learning English as a second language.
In addition to personal counseling, EOP&S Counselors can:
 |
Develop
a semester by semester educational plan |
 |
Explore career choices |
 |
Review requirements for 4-year transfer
universities |
 |
Help process academic probation paperwork |
 |
Sign financial aid advisement certifications |
 |
Assist students in preparing to transfer |
 |
Assist students in preparing scholarship
applications |
 |
Recommend tutoring |
 |
Coordinate with other college programs or agencies
off campus. |
