The Computer Classroom

The Writing Center's Computer Classroom is located in room MB-4.  When a class is being held in the Computer Classroom, the staff of the Writing Center asks that a student wishing to use a computer on a drop-in basis first check to see if there is a work station available in the Drop-In Lab (room MB-3).  If there are no computers available in the Drop-In Lab, students may, with the instructor's permission, use a computer in the Computer Classroom.  Classes that are held here follow a weekly schedule that you will find below.  This schedule is also posted at the entrance to the Computer Classroom so that students may easily tell when a class is in session and thus avoid interrupting a lecture in progress.

When the Drop-In Lab closes at 3:45 p.m., students may use the Computer Classroom as a drop-in lab.  At  those times during the evening when there is a class in the Computer Classroom, most instructors will allow students to work quietly at the back of the room if there are computers available.  

The Computer Classroom is open Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Drop-In Lab, MB-3, is open Monday to Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Neither room is open on Saturday or Sunday.

Currently, the Computer Classroom offers students the use of four software programs:  Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Internet Explorer 7.0 and, in addition, a self-paced English 10 grammar course is offered in the Drop-In Lab .  The Writing Center asks that each student read the English Department Writing Center and Computer Classroom Network and Telecommunications Policy  before making use of the Internet.

All food or drink must be placed on the bookshelf by the Computer Lab entrance.
