If you are using the computers in the Drop-In Lab, it is recommended that either you save your work to a flash drive or email your work to yourself as an attachment. While use of a floppy disk for saving material is available it is not recommended.  In anticipation of computer malfunctions and power outages, remember to save your document every five to 10 minutes.

Should you have any questions regarding our computer hardware or software, please feel free to ask an assistant. Assistants will not, however, be able to respond to questions regarding your writing; please direct writing questions to our Writing Consultants.

Writing Consultants are available to answer questions from students working on the computers and to work more extensively with student writers. Appointments may be made in advance to meet one-on-one with a Writing Consultant. Please speak to the assistant at the front desk in order to schedule an appointment or phone campus extension 2778.

You will be required to "Log In" and "Log Out" when visiting the Drop-In Lab, using your PIC card or by manually entering your student ID at the front desk of the Drop-In Lab. If you do not have your PIC card with you (or you have forgotten your student ID number), you should ask for help to get your ID number.
