Writing and Research Links

Should you have any questions regarding your writing or a particular assignment, we recommend that you first meet with your instructor or visit our Writing Center (MB-3); what follows, however, are a number of Web sites that may be of interest to students of writing and literature.

The Research Paper

Palomar College's Academic Technology page, created by Terry Grey, contains a wealth of useful resources for the online researcher, including links to libraries, online encyclopedias, general and specialized dictionaries, and writers' guides (handbooks and citation information).

Capital Community-Technical College of Hartford, Connecticut, has produced a Guide for Writing Research Papers based on MLA documentation.

Writing and Grammar

If you know exactly what you are after, Purdue University Writing Lab's Online Writing Center (OWL) has an index of writing-related material. Similarly, the University of Victoria's Writers' Guide has a thorough index of answers to writing and grammar questions as well as explanations of literary terms.

If you are not sure of where to get started, try LEO, the home page for The Write Place, St. Cloud State University's Writing Center.

You might also try these links for other sites providing information and help with writing and grammar:
