English 225 (Survey of U.S. Literature, Part I)
Hi, I’m Gary Zacharias, an instructor here at Palomar.
The story of
America is fascinating -- the rise from small settlements to the modern, complex
society we have today.
We are lucky
because our history has been fully documented by diaries, letters, and other
historical pieces from the very beginning.
This fall in
English 225, which is the first half of American literature, you have a chance
to trace American life from its early colonial writers
to revolutionary leaders to 19th century landmark authors.
I invite you to
come along, learn of our heritage, and learn more of what it means to be an
American. You'll encounter amazing hardships, terrible wars, frightening
tales, and challenging ideas.
E-mail me if you
have any questions. Thanks.
