Bard
A lost driver on a dark street
With a page-missing map
Weeping in mind
Over the details
Of an empty minute
Lost inside
A broken watch
Crying to please
Spaces on paper
With kidnapped moments
Awakening
The complacent thought
The dread on sun-parched lips wishing for an ice cold Pepsi
instead of a body covered in oil and sticky sand
The warm breath of a mountain lion
after chewing on the carcass of a newborn lamb
The tip of a tongue on the nipple of a women’s breast
A dying mother cradling a starving child with tiny toes
The aroma of rising gas from a fat man’s ass
The grief of a still-born child
Flaking paint on an empty house
The clothing of a missing girl
Onion rings on a greasy napkin
The wrinkles on an old man’s face
The smell of burning cocaine
