Debi Workman

EME Director, AHA Training Center Coordinator

Debi Workman has served as Director and Instructor for the Emergency Medical Education Department since 1989. She received her BS Degree in Health Sciences in 1982. She received her R.N. Diploma from LA County USC Medical Center. Prior to working for Palomar College, Debi worked for 11 years as an MICN in San Diego County. Debi serves on State and local EMS Committees and is also a National Registry Test representative.

Michael Finton

Assistant Professor

Michael Finton joined the Emergency Medical Education Department in 1999 as an Associate Professor. Michael received his Associate Degree in Nursing from Rancho Santiago College in 1990. He served as an Emergency Room Nurse and Administrative Liaison as well as Mobile Intensive Care Nurse for Western Medical Center in Santa Ana from 1988 to 1998. Prior to joining the Palomar College staff, Michael served as an EMS instructor for Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Michael received his EMT-Paramedic Certificate in 1987 through Daniel Freeman Hospital.

Pete Ordille

Pete Ordille

Assistant Professor, Paramedic Lead Instructor

Pete Ordille received his Bachelors Degree from Florida Atlantic University. Pete began his career with the US Forest Service on an inter-regional hot shot crew. He joined the Escondido Fire Department and has served as a firefighter/paramedic and is now currently retired. Pete has also served as a member of the Escondido Police Department Tactical Operations Unit since 1991. He serves as Rescue Specialist for FEMA California Task Force 8 Urban Search and Rescue Team. Prior to that, Pete was a Flight Medic for UCSD Medical Center Life-Flight. Pete has served as lead instructor for the Paramedic Program. Pete was named San Diego County Paramedic Of The Year in 1995.

Mary Reed


Academic Department Assistant

Mary Reed graduated from Palomar College and was formerly a Mathematics tutor for Palomar College until joining the EME department. Mary Reed joined the EME Department in 1999 as a short-term employee while attending the Palomar College Vocal Program. Mary was then hired as an Office Specialist for EME in 2001. Mary is now the Academic Department Assistant for the EME Department.

Ally Do



Clinical Coordinator

Ally Do received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the University of California, Riverside in 2009.  She continued her education at Palomar College and earned a Certification as a Medical Office Specialist. Ally held an internship with the Emergency Medical Education Department in spring 2013. She joined the EME department as the new Clinical Coordinator in March 2014.

Steve Marovich

Steve Marovich


Part-Time Instructor

Steve Marovich has been an instructor in the Emergency Medical Education Department since 1989. Steve helped in developing the Paramedic Prep Course which is now a college requirement for paramedic school. Steve also served as a Firefighter-Paramedic and is now a Captain with North County Fire Department where he was selected as Firefighter Of The Year-1996. Steve is also a certiified PALS, PHTLS, and ACLS Instructor.

Joe Napier

Joe Napier

Part-time Instructor

Joe Napier has served as an instructor with the Emergency Medical Education Department since 1989 in the Paramedic Program. Joe began his Fire/EMS career with Vista Fire Department in 1986 as a Firefighter/Paramedic and is now a Battalion Chief for Vista Fire Department. Joe received the Firefighter of the Year Award from Vista Fire Department in 1992. Joe is also a California State Fire certified EMT instructor.
