GEOG 110 Spring, 2012 Students:
Greetings!
In Spring Semester, 2012, GEOG 110 will be held as an online class. The class will be taught through Blackboard and is now available. Go to http://www.palomar.edu/blackboard/ to access the syllabus and other important information and announcements.
An on-campus orientation will be held Friday, January 20 from 7:00 - 8:30PM in room NS-135. If you do not attend the orientation, and have not received permission from me to miss orientation (it must be a good excuse...) then you will be dropped from the roster and a waitlisted student will be added in your place. Orientation is my opportunity to explain exactly how the course works, which is a bit complicated. If you miss it then it is entirely your obligation to figure it out. Also, waitlisted students should come to orientation!
Exams are held on campus. If you cannot meet this obligation then please do not enroll for the class.
Finally, there are two required books: a textbook and an investigations manual. They are packaged together and available in the bookstore. Some students are trying to save money on the textbook by using older editions. If you are one of those students please keep two things in mind: 1) you MUST have a new Investigations Manual, which can be purchased separately at http://www.ametsoc.org/amsedu/bookstorelink/index.html for $109 plus shipping, and 2) my exams are written to the latest edition of the textbook, so an older edition might lead you to answer some questions incorrectly. In general, the more recent the edition the better off you will be.
