Regional Field Studies:

Oceanography of the Southern California Bight

May 27-30, 2008

(Spring 2008 semester, Tuesday-Friday after Memorial Day)

Visit area beaches, lagoons, and coastal sites to explore coastal ecosystems and geological and oceanographic processes of the Southern California Bight.   Course includes a full-day boat trip to East Anacapa Island (Channel Islands National Park) The course will also focus on human interactions in the coastal environment.  This 4-day, 3-night trip begins in La Jolla and ends near Point Conception.  Students provide their own transportation (carpooling required).  A fee of $60 will be collected to cover the transportation cost to East Anacapa Island and one night's lodging at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.
