Counseling

DRC offers counseling services by counselors who are trained to work with students who have disabilities. In addition to academic, vocational and limited personal counseling, counselors can also assist in disability management and recommend support services, accommodations and assistive technology. Counselors may also assist in advocacy and liaison with campus staff as well as off-campus agencies.

Since Palomar College is a year-round institution, counselors are available during the entire year at the San Marcos campus. Services are available 5 days a week (M-F) in San Marcos. Some counseling appointments are available in the early evening hours. Counselors may be able to resolve some issues via phone or e-mail. Walk-in counseling (15 minute limit) is available on a daily basis (call for schedule).

For best service, we recommend that you see a counselor early for course planning. Counselors have access to semester schedules long before they are published. Recommended guide follows for appointments with little or no waiting:

Fall semester: May-June
Spring semester: Mid-October through November
Summer: April
