STUDENT RESOURCES

Students in the Diesel Maintenance Program work with some of the latest technology.  The department teaches in two state of the art “Smart Classrooms” – each student workstation is equipped with a complete set of Snap-On tools, can work with the latest software on Dell notebook computers with wireless access, and some of the most up to date electrical circuit emulators available.  When you, the student, can blend this real-world technology with access to over twenty different types of engines and countless pieces of on and off highway vehicles you will be exposed to during the course of your education it is no wonder that so many students find rewarding jobs before they graduate.

When not in the classroom, students can continue their education through the Blackboard network and all of the on-line resources that are available to students at Palomar College.  Personal e-mail accounts, on-line registration and fee payment, access to research material through the on campus library, and personal on line calendar type organizers.  In addition the Blackboard network allows professors and instructors to provide additional material so that students can explore the topics covered in class in more detail.  They can take the form of PDF documents, streaming video of lectures and point you to different and supporting material relating to class.
