Joe Schaeffer Joe Schaeffer As the founder of the Diesel Mechanics Technology Program at Palomar College and Director of the Trades and Industry Department he has maintained a state of the art learning environment for 32 years.  Possessor ASE Master Mechanic certification for 27 years.  Member of the Antique Car and Steam Tractor Museum for 7 years.  BOBCAT West Coast training affiliate for 12 years.  California Air Resource Board Authorized instructor.

Retired 2007 and stays in contact with the department.
Kevin Gibbon Kevin Gibbon Began his teaching career at Palomar College in the spring of 2001.  Since then he has regularly instructed students in the principals of automotive electricity in both the Diesel Technology and Automotive Technology departments.
Mr. Gibbon brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom.  With 30 years in the field and running his own automotive electrical repair business both here in Southern California and in the United Kingdom, he has worked on modern automotive electrical systems, classic and restoration vehicles, heavy duty on highway trucks, specialized and construction equipment, along with numerous military applications.
Lab Assistants – Every semester a few students are chosen to work as lab assistants.  Their duties will range from helping the instructor set up for a lecture to doing repair work on the campus equipment.  They are also responsible for maintaining a safe and organized lab environment and assisting other students in completing lab work
