1. Minimum age of 18 years and a high school graduate. 2. Attend an RDA Program Orientation. 3. Enroll in Palomar College. 4. Submit a completed Palomar College Dental Assisting Application for Admission to Dental Assisting Office. 5. Submit proof of completion of or eligibility for Eng. 50 or Eng. 100 or ESL 103 to Dental Assisting Office. (Eligibility established by Palomar College English Assessment test) 6. Submit "Minimum Requirement" of official sealed GED test results or official sealed transcripts from high school. 7. If college courses taken without achieving a degree, submit sealed official college transcripts in addition to high school transcripts or GED test results to Dental Assisting Office. 8. COLLEGE GRADUATES, from accepted accredited colleges, may submit sealed official college transcripts in place of high school transcript or GED test results to Dental Assisting Office. 9. Applicant must have a minimum grade point of 2.0. 10. Applicants must have excellent hearing and vision (must be able to see details as small as .5 millimeters). They must have the ability to communicate orally, to comprehend and to interpret written information. They must also have dexterity to use small dental instruments. After application is accepted, applicants will receive a letter requesting submission of: 1. Completed medical, dental and vision forms. Once all medical, dental and vision requirements are met, students will receive a letter of final acceptance to the RDA Program at Palomar College. All applications and supportive paperwork must be submitted in a sealed envelope with name and address on exterior.
