Lower Division (12 units)

Students must take twelve (12) units of lower-division. A portion of all of these units may be met by demonstrating language proficiency; in such a case, the units required in lower-division would be proportionately reduced. Possible CSUSM lower-division Spanish courses that can count towards this requirement are:

Span 101 - Beginning Spanish I (4) Spanish 101 - Elementary Spanish (5)

Span 102 - Beginning Spanish II (4) Spanish 110 - Elementary Spanish (5)

Span 201 - Intermediate Spanish I (3) Spanish 201 - Intermediate Spanish (5)

Span 202 - Intermediate Spanish II (3) Spanish 210 - Intermediate Spanish (5)

Span 205 - Intermediate Oral Practice (3) No Equivalent

Span 210 - Intermediate Reading and Composition (3) No Equivalent

Span 250 - Spanish for Spanish Speakers (3) Spanish 240 and 241- Spanish for Native

Speakers I & II (3, 3)

Students seeking admission to the program must have completed the 12 unit lower division requirement or have demonstrated proficiency through Spanish 202.
