Ron Burgher has been involved with computer science and information technology education for over 15 years.
Ron earned his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and has an extensive background dealing with "cutting edge" information
technology topics. He is constantly scanning the high-tech and higher education environments to stay abreast of the latest
developments in both of these fast changing fields. As a Microsoft Windows version 1.0 user, Ron has specialized in
Microsoft technologies and is an unabashed Visual Basic evangelist.
Ron has been instrumental in the creation and development of many new and updated curriculums in computer science
and information technology. In addition to teaching at several baccalaureate level and community colleges,
he has been active in consulting, contracting and training with several large corporations including Union Pacific Railroad,
Mutual of Omaha Insurance and the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). In 1991, Ron won the Zenith Data
Systems "Masters of Innovation" award for the development of a computerized test administration and management system that was
the first to take advantage of the graphical user interface.
