Cover Letters 

A cover letter is a letter written by you that normally accompanies your resume when you are applying for a job.  In looking for employment, at times you will see job announcements that will ask you to send a cover letter along with your resume.

A good cover letter sets the stage for the reader to accept your resume as something special.  In writing a cover letter you want it to be as professional done as your resume. 

Listed below are three (3) samples of different kinds of cover letters that will give you an idea of what a cover letter may look like. As you look for a job, you may see ads or job announcements that asks for a resume and (or) cover letter.

Use the templates below to start your own cover letter.  You will need MS Word in order to use the templates below.  Click on the link below, then go to "File"  or " Description: Image of MS Office Icon"  Scroll down to  "Save As" and save your resume onto a disk or USB drive.

  • Once you have a cover letter written, you can make an appointment with a Career Counselor to have you cover letter reviewed.
