A cover letter is a letter written by you that normally accompanies your resume when you are applying for a job.  In looking for employment, at times you will see job announcements that will ask you to send a cover letter along with your resume.

A good cover letter sets the stage for the reader to accept your resume as something special.  In writing a cover letter you want it to be as professional done as your resume.
