  • College Readiness: Understanding the Differences Between High School and College

One of the biggest mistakes that students make is treating college like it were high school.  Part of student success includes understanding some of the differences between high school and college.  Differences include the following:

High School College
180 hours of instruction 48 hours of instruction
Little or no time studying outside of class Study 2 hours outside of class
for every hour of class
Constant reminder of classes through homework Little or no homework/reading assignments
Teacher Directed Student Directed
