CSU General Education, 2012-2013

  • Candidates for the Baccalaureate Degree at a California State University must meet the general education requirement of 48 semester units.  A student may complete 39 units of this requirement at the lower-division level.  The remaining 9 units must be completed at the upper-division level.

  • The CSU GE pattern, when certified by Palomar College, will meet all lower-division general education requirements at any CSU campus.
 

Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), 2012-2013

  • IGETC - Used for lower-division general education at both the UC and CSU systems.

  • IGETC is not appropriate for students selecting the following majors:
  • Agricultural and Environmental Sciences: Davis
    Biological Sciences: Davis, Irvine
    Business: Berkeley
    Chemistry: Berkeley
    Engineering: All campuses
    Environmental Design: Berkeley
    Environmental Studies: Santa Cruz
    Natural and Agricultural Sciences: Riverside
    Natural Resources: Berkeley
    Nursing (RN-BSN): Los Angeles
    Physical Science: Irvine
