A Checklist for New and Returning Students
 
Step 2 - APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
 
Palomar College offers several types of financial aid which are funded through federal, state and local agencies and the college. For information on opportunities, eligibility, and deadlines, go to the Financial Aid web site.
 
1.  FAFSA
     a.  Complete online at www.fafsa.ed.gov to receive grants, federal work study, and loans.  Completing FAFSA takes care of the BOGW application.  Complete the Cal Grant application by March 2 for the first deadline and by September 2 for the second deadline.

     b.  *After applying, check your To Do List, located on the right hand side of the Student Center in eServices for financial aid forms that may be required to complete your financial aid process. 

 
2.  Board of Governor's Waiver (BOGW)
In eServices, click on "Apply for the BOG fee waiver" under the "My Finances and Financial Assistance" area. Complete, print, and submit to Financial Aid office.
 
3.  Scholarships 
In eServices, click on the "Scholarship Application - Opt in" link.  The link is only available during the application period for scholarships (typically February - March).  Also, look into outside scholarships on the Students Resources page.
