Description of Position:

The Marketing Intern – Graphic and Web Design - is primarily focused on two key projects – development of a website to support a new distributed brand and development of a Buyers Guide (a product catalog). If time permits, there is the possibility to participate in additional Marketing projects to gain invaluable experience in a working corporate environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·       Report to the Marketing Manager to:
       o   Develop a website supporting new brand
       o   Develop a Buyers Guide (a product catalog)
·       If time permits, assist Marketing team with other various design-related tasks
·       Source, collect and keep organized product information and related Marketing assets from various local and international resources

An ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to:
·       Develop and apply brand aesthetic and website functionality within provided guidelines and specifications
·       Effectively and actively communicate in a timely manner to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met

Education/Experience Required:
·       Pursuant Degree in Graphic and/or Web Design or 2-5 years experience in Web and Graphic Design
·       2-5 years experience designing within a Content Management Solution (CMS) website
·       Experience with ASP programming a plus
·       Skilled with MS Office Applications (for content organization)
·       Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver or graphic and code equivalents
·       Intermediate-to-strong skills writing and working with HTML, PHP and SQL databases

Hours per week:

 25-40 hours per week, flexible work schedule that works around class schedule

Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager and working in a dynamic and engaging environment, the Inside Sales Professional will be charged with managing and building a book of business throughout the U.S., focusing on selling various golf-related and consumer products. Water Conservation Intern

Qualifications

·       An interest in principles and practices of a water conservation program.

·       Explain and apply applicable Federal, State and City policies, procedures, laws, codes and regulations pertaining to water conservation.

·       Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accurate written and computerized records and reports.

·       Perform indoor water use surveys and make recommendations on mechanical changes in order to achieve water savings and water use efficiency.

·       Effectively communicate with people from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds, both orally and in writing.

·       Ability to work independently and efficiently to carry out assignments.

Education and Experience

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required qualifications is acceptable.

General Purpose 

Under general supervision, to perform varied water conservation duties including monitoring specific water conservation programs and to do related work as assigned.

Typical Duties 

The Water Conservation intern is responsible for conducting indoor water surveys for residential customers and provide services to the public relative to the promotion of the City of Carlsbad’s conservation programs.

Other Job Characteristics 

Extended periods of standing and walking. Willingness to work outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary.

Description of Position:

Description of position:  Intern position in the engineering department. Contribute design ideas, assist designer and sample makers in current projects.  Under general supervision, plot and cut paper patterns, cut fabric, sew on industrial sewing machines.  Expected to learn design process from initial idea, to prototyping, into manufacturing. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cutting paper patterns and fabric according to specifications
  • Sewing using industrial machine
  • Review process steps to build products (labor standards) for sewn products
  • Review report of list parts to build product (bill of materials) for sewn products

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a fashion design student who is interested in technical design and sewing of scuba diving equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Must be actively enrolled in Fashion Design Program.

Completion of courses in Basic Sewing Construction and Pattern Making/Fashion Design preferred.

TOOLS and/or EQUIPMENT:  Industrial sewing machines, plotter printer, scissors, computer (MS Office)
