The San Marcos Center is taking waiting list applications for children for Spring '10, Summer '10 and Fall '10.

  As of November 5, full day and half day spaces available on certain days for children 3 1/2 years old - 5 years old.

Escondido Center

The CHDV Center is open year round, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.  The Center is  located on the San Marcos campus, adjacent to Parking #12. The Center serves children who are 21 months old by June 1 of the current school year until 5 years old and are not going to kindergarten. Enrolled children stay with the same group for the entire school year. If your child is not 21 months old by June 1 of the current school year, he or she will not be eligible for our program until the following school year. Waiting list applications may be taken by phone or on line.

Palomar College students may apply for subsidized child care. To qualify for subsidized child care, students must be enrolled in academic classes during the time children are enrolled at the Center. Parents may also apply for the county centralized eligibility listing by calling (619) 521-3055 ext. 2500 or completing an online application at www.childcaresandiego.com.

Admission:  Eligible children are ranked based on family size and gross monthly income with the lowest per capita income admitted first. When two or more families rank equally, the family that applied first is given priority. Within this ranking, first priority is given to children referred to the program by Child Protective Services. Second priority is given to children of Palomar College students.

For Faculty, Staff and Community Parents, fees are based on the ratio of teacher per child.  Children under 3 years old are enrolled in 4 children to 1 adult ratio and ages 3-5 years old are enrolled in a 8 to 1 ratio.  Current rates for children under three years old are $50.50 for a full day only. Half day rates for children 3 1/2 - 5 years old are $29.50 per half day. Half day hours end at 12:30pm. Full day rates for children 3-5 years old are $40 per full day.
