Orientation
CalWORKs Continuing Student
Orientation
As a CalWORKs student I understand that there are program
requirements and to be eligible for the program I must
follow and meet the guidelines below.
1. Every
semester/term
(summer/fall/spring) that I
attend Palomar College, I will
set up an appointment with a
CalWORKs Counselor to develop an
Educational Plan/Individual
Training Plan (ITP). I will
enroll in classes that are on my
Educational Plan as written by
my counselor.
2. I understand
that I will complete a CalWORKs
online orientation, summer, fall
and spring of attendance.
3. I will
notify my counselor immediately
if I deviate from my Education
Plan (add and/or drop classes)
and make an appointment to
update the ITP and related
forms.
4. If I
experience any difficulties such
as transportation, childcare,
course work or any other area
that is interfering with my
ability to be successful in my
educational and/or work
activities, I will notify the
CalWORKs Counselor immediately.
5. Every
semester, I will maintain a
minimum 2.0 GPA.
6. If I'm
unable to attend a scheduled
appointment, I understand that I
must call and cancel the
appointment at least 24 hours
before the scheduled appointment
time.
7. I understand
that I will adhere to the EOPS/CalWORKs
"No Show" Policy.
8. I will
activate my Palomar student
e-mail account for updates,
information, and requests from
Palomar College CalWORKs.
9. I understand
that CalWORKs services are
dependent on unmet need.
Therefore, I know I must apply
for Financial Aid even if I have
been previously denied.
10. I
understand full time status is
not required. However, with
limited program funds, priority
will be given to students who
are enrolled in at least 6
units.
I agree to the above stated guidelines and understand that
my noncompliance in any of the above areas may affect my
eligibility to receive services from the Palomar College
CalWORKs program.
