A record number of Palomar College AODS/PSS graduates received their AA and /or Certificate of Achievement on May 20, 2011. To our graduates: Congratulations on making it to the finish line! You have worked hard to complete your Certificate and/or AA Degree and I commend you for your hard work,persistence and dedication.

 

AODS Students attend Summer Clinical Institute in Addiction Studies

Barbara Williams Scholarship Recipients for 2010-11

Barbara Williams Scholarship Winners

The Barbara Williams Scholarship was started in 2008 and the first awards were given starting Fall 2009. The Palomar College Alcohol and Other Drug Studies program is pleased to announce the 2011-12 Barbara Williams Scholarship recipients; Kathleen Carson, David Daniels, Anita Gunther, and David Rasmussen.

These students (pictured here with Program Coordinator Maria Miller, AODS and Barbara Williams) will be awarded $600 each to help them continue their studies. Barbara Williams is a Professor Emeritus in the Behavioral Sciences Dept. who currently teaches Alcohol and Other Drug Studies courses. Barbara was the originator of the Palomar College Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (AODS) AA/Certificate program and held the position of program director through Fall 2008. Under Barbara's direction Palomar College AODS program was granted CAADE (California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators) accreditation status. As program director, Barbara has guided Palomar College AODS and Psychological and Social Services students through their field placments and unto employment as AODS and Human Service professionals.
