Palomar College is a two-year community college of the State of California officially accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is a publicly supported institution funded with state and local tax dollars. Fees include, for example, tuition for credit classes and parking.

Admissions Policy

Students Who Plan to Transfer to a Four-year University

There are several four-year institutions which offer degrees in various areas of aviation. Each institution varies as to its specific requirements. some emphasize 'pilot' type courses while others emphasize business or science related courses. In order to select the proper electives here at Palomar College, you need to decide where you plan to transfer as well as your major area of emphasis at that four-year college or university. Doing this early in your studies here at Palomar College will maximize the number of Palomar College courses that will transfer directly into your major area at that four-year institution.

Transfer students are encouraged to contact the counseling office, the Transfer Center, or an instructor in the Aviation Sciences program for assistance in selecting appropriate electives to be taken at Palomar College.

Student Services

Palomar College offers many student services including counseling, placement, on-campus employment, child care services, veterans assistance, health services, financial aid counselors and services, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services and disabled student services.

Location

Palomar College is located in San Marcos in northern San Diego County near Highway 78, at 1140 West Mission Road. It is eight miles west of Escondido, seven miles east of Vista, and 20 miles northwest of Poway.

Methods of Enrollment

Please visit the Palomar College home page (http://www.palomar.edu/) to fill out an application, to view the class schedule, and to register for a class using the online registration system.

Although not the preferred method, you may come to the first class meeting and then use the online registration system.
