General Lab Rules
Welcome to the Academic Technology computer labs.
These labs are open to Palomar students and the general
public. The labs are maintained as a safe and
orderly place where their patrons can work on academic
assignments, projects and researches. Anyone
disturbing the safety or order or the labs will be asked
to leave.
Individuals under the age of 18 who are in high
school must receive authorization from a parent or
guardian who has Library borrowing privileges in order
to use the labs. High school-age persons without this
authorization, and all other minors are not permitted to
use the labs.
Additional information about obtaining authorization
to use the lab is available at the Academic Technology
Lab Help Desk.
To keep the laboratory area safe and convenient for
our patrons, we ask that you follow these rules when
using the lab:
- All patrons will follow the Palomar College
Student Code of
Conduct.
- Individual computer users will give preference
of lab use to any classes which need the lab.
- Non-academic-use patrons will give preference of
computer use to academic-use patrons. (see below).
- Patrons may not execute software not already
loaded on the lab computers. No installation of
software by patrons is allowed without the
permission of the lab staff.
- Internet users must agree to some
additional rules.
Patrons not complying with these rules will be asked
to vacate the lab.
Occasionally classes will use part or all of the
labs, and at those times other patrons may be asked to
give up their computers.
