Academic Technology Training for Spring 2013

We have published our spring training schedule for the coming semester.  See the web version here (the long version including workshop descriptions), and the grid schedule of in-person events here.  For PDF versions see a convenient one-page training "menu" (we mean this literally) here, and the standard, 20-page catalog style listing here.

New in the spring will be in-person workshops on Google Search Tips, Connecting an iPad to a projector, Web 2.0 tools, tablet computing, Blackboard mashup tools, the Google Art Project, and other topics.  The new workshops will join the traditional offerings on the Palomar College POET program, WordPress, PowerPoint, Camtasia, Graphics, and pedagogy.

We are shifting most of our Blackboard training to in-person, one-on-one training with our techs.  Please use our helpdesk to make appointments with the techs.

Thank You Katie!!!

Katie Townsend-MerinoThanks to Prof. Katie Townsend-Merino for applying to Google on behalf of Palomar College for the donation of used (3 - 4 years old) laptops and a new printer.  Google is donating electronics to only 30 institutions in the US this year, and Palomar is one of them, thanks to Katie's interest and dilligent follow-through.  Academic Technology will be receiving 5 Lenovo T-60 and T-61 series laptops for circulation to faculty and small group training workshops, and a new printer for use in the AT computer labs.
