Academic Technology Computer Labs
The
ATRC computer labs are located on the ground floor of the San Marcos
campus library. They are for the use of current, actively
registered students only. Public computers are available on the
second floor of the library. Student (or staff) login is required
to use the ATRC computers.
There are 144 computers available to students in the
AT labs. There are two classroom labs, LL-104 and LL-109 with 30
student workstations each and 1 instructor's workstation each. The
classroom labs can be reserved to hold semester length classes as long
as the classes require the regular use of computers. See below for
reservation procedures. The classroom labs are in use
approximately 50% of the time for classes, and serve as open labs the
remainder of the time. In addition to the classroom labs there is
a large central lab (LL-103) comprised of 80 student workstations
accessible on a first come first served basis. In the public lab
area there are also 4 specialized ADA computers equipped with special
software and seating arrangements. The 4 specialized computers are
intended for disabled students during hours that the Disabled Resource
Center (DRC), also located on the first floor of the library, is not
available.
The ATRC administers a 4-computer faculty
technology center in room LL-111. These are higher-end computers
equipped with specialized hardware and software and are intended for
faculty users only.
For information about the labs, or to reserve
classroom labs, contact one of our lab managers:

Lab FAQs
Lab Reservations
Please note that we no
longer maintain public lab calendars on the Internet. To reserve time for your class, call
one of the lab
managers listed above or come into the lab in person and ask
to speak with the lab manager. All classes should be
reserved at
least one week in
advance, and the labs
are available on a first-come
first-served basis. It is not unusual for classes to
reserve time more than a year in advance, so if you know
when you will want to be in the lab, contact us
as soon as possible. Please remember that your class should not be
considered reserved until you have received confirmation
from one of the lab managers. Be sure your class
needs to use the computers. We will not reserve labs for classes
that do not need the computers as part of normal classwork.
Software Installation
If you have software or web services that you wish
installed in the ATRC computer labs, you must get the software to us,
along with proof of licensing, according to the following timetable:

Faculty Technology Center
The faculty technology lab is located in room LL-111.
It is intended as a work area where faculty members can access scanners,
webcams, microphone headsets, and specialized software like Camtasia,
Sound Forge or Adobe Premiere. AT staff are available to assist
you with your projects in the lab. Staff is available from 7:00 AM
to around 5:00PM Monday-Friday. There are only four computers in
the lab (and one is in a soundproof booth). The computers are
available on a first-come first-served basis and cannot be reserved.
