The
purpose of the Academic Technology
Resource Center is to facilitate and
enhance teaching and learning at Palomar
College through the use of technology.
We maintain
computer labs,
administer the
Blackboard
Learning System, maintain college web
servers and services, provide
technology training workshops and materials,
provide media services, check out hardware and
provide software
download points and software usage
guidance, participate in
policy formulation and enforcement, and—through
our
RSS feeds,
podcasts,
newsletters, blogs, headline services, and training
videos—provide
the latest technology information for
faculty, staff and students. This
web site, and its companion
PCOnline web site, are our primary means of
technical communication with those we serve.
As a Palomar College
organization, we have been around for a while (since
1998) but we have experienced a tremendous pace of
change recently. Our
what's new page contains information on some of the new things we would
like you to know about. If you are a faculty
member, visit the
Faculty Services page of the PCOnline web site for
other, very helpful sources of information and training
regarding online and technology enhanced teaching.
We hope these pages can be used to
keep you informed about changes in the local technology
landscape--especially with developments with our new
enterprise Blackboard platform--and also on the national
and world scene as technology continues to challenge and
change us.
If you have questions,
want to arrange special training, or need
help with some technology issue, please
don't hesitate to
contact us.
