Welcome
The purpose of the Academic
Technology Resource Center is to facilitate and enhance teaching and
learning at Palomar College through the use of technology. We
maintain
computer labs,
administer the
Blackboard Learning System,
administer various college web servers and services, provide
technology training
workshops and materials, provide media services, check out hardware and
provide software download points and software usage guidance,
participate in
policy
formulation and enforcement. This web site, and its companion
Blackboard web
site, are the primary portals by which we communicate with our
community.
As a Palomar College
organization, we have been around for a while (since 1998) but we have
experienced a tremendous pace of change recently. Our
what's new page
contains information on some of the new things we would like you to know
about.
We hope these pages can be used to keep you informed
about changes in the local technology landscape--especially with
developments with our new enterprise Blackboard 9 platform--and also on
the national and world scene as technology continues to challenge and
change us.
If you have questions, want to arrange special
training, or need help with some technology issue, please don't hesitate
to contact us.
The most important of our responsibilities is to
communicate to the Palomar team the technology tools and concepts that
can lead to improved teaching and learning at our institution.
With communication in mind, we have created the following communication
media to keep our community informed.
