Kelly Falcone
Kelly graduated from Vista High School in 1997,
Palomar College in 1999,
completed her Bachelors of Arts degree in Kinesiology- Fitness,
Nutrition, and Health from San Diego State
University in
2001, and completed her Masters of Arts
degree in Kinesiology with specialization in Biomechanics from
SDSU in 2005.
Her former sports life includes four years of swimming and water
polo at Vista High, 2 years of swimming and water polo at
Palomar, and 2 years on the SDSU division one water polo team.
At Vista, Kelly
earned several awards including team MVP, captain, and all-CIF
honors.
At Palomar she received All-American honors in
water polo both years she competed. She was also awarded
Athlete of the week for Pacific Coast Conference and received
Scholar Athlete of the year for Palomar College Women’s
athletics. She earned a full ride scholarship to SDSU for
her final two years of water polo. At SDSU Kelly was
a Scholar athlete and team captain. In her final year of
play, Kelly was awarded for her academics being honored with the
SDSU Jim Malik award for the highest GPA among all SDSU
athletes. Immediately upon graduating from SDSU Kelly
began her coaching career as an assistant water polo coach for
Southwestern Community College. Today, Kelly continues to
play with a San Diego Masters team and competes regularly. This outstanding Comet Scholar returned
home in 2004 to be the head water polo coach at Palomar.
In her first season coaching the Comets, she helped guide the
team to earn the title of Conference Champions and was named
Pacific Coast Conference Coach of the Year! Welcome home
