The 2006 women's tennis team finished the season earning a # 6 ITA team ranking in the state.  The Comets' overall won-loss record was 13-3 (10-2 conference).  The Lady Comets, loss in the state dual team playoffs 5-2 to State Champion, Orange Coast College.

This year's 2007 team will be led by outstanding sophomores, Mara Nissinoff and Melanie Dutra, both graduates of La Costa Canyon High School.  Mara finished last season with a singles state ranking of # 17.  Melanie finished with a # 30 singles state ranking.  Mara and Melanie combined their talents in doubles as the # 1 doubles team for Palomar and ended the season with a # 6 state ranking in doubles.

Newcomers this season will include; Taylor Woodbury (Rancho Bernardo HS), Lauren Warmley (Oasis HS), Shanthe Mandrayar (Linfield HS), and Rebecca O'Neill (Escondido HS).

The team will open their 2007 season against visiting Rio Hondo College on February 6 (Tuesday) at 2:00 p.m.  The Women's team will travel to Riverside City College two days later on their first traveling trip of the season.

The team will also be participating in the Pacific Coast Conference Tournament in April at the George Barnes Tennis Center (San Diego), and the Ojai Valley Invitational Tournament (Ventura-Ojai).  In May the team will travel north to Victor Valley College (Victorville) for the Regional Tournament, and head further north to Cabrillo College in Northern California for the State Tournament a week later.
