Palomar Transfers
Felicia Velte: California State University, San Marcos. One time Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Year
and team captain for 2007 will be continuing her soccer career and education across
the street at Cal State San Marcos. She has been offered a scholarship to
become an integral part of the 2008-2009 Lady Cougars.
Kerry Sonnenburg: Southwestern College, Kansas. Kerry, a strong defender and captain of last season’s
team will be transferring to Kansas in the Fall of 2008. She received a
scholarship and looks forward to continuing her education and soccer career in
the Midwest.
Ashlee Cristinziani: California State University,
Fullerton. “AC” will
be continuing her education at Cal State Fullerton in Fall of 2008. Ashlee was
a strong and dominant personality on and off the field for the Comets and will
find success transferring to the 4 year institution.
Ashley Weaver: California State University, Fullerton. Weaver will be continuing her education at Cal State
Fullerton this Fall. Earning her spot as a defender, Weaver proved to be a
solid asset to the team’s defensive strategy. Her determination and work ethic
will help her succeed in the future at Fullerston.
Judy Barragan: California State University, San Marcos. One time Pacific Coast Conference Player of the
Year, Judy plans to continue her education at CSUSM. While playing soccer for
the Cougars is still a possibility, she hopes to quickly finish her B.A.
requirements and plans to spend some time in Spain for a semester.
Sadie Soulias: San Diego Christian College. Sadie, who suffered a midseason ACL injury, will
continue both her soccer and educational career at San Diego Christian College.
She looks forward to returning as an even stronger player and adding to the
success of the upcoming 2007 season for SDCC.
Lauren Towner: California State University, San Marcos. Lauren will continue her collegiate plans at Cal
State San Marcos. Her defensive mindset helped her succeed as a player for the
Comets in both seasons. She will continue pursuing her educational goals at the
local 4 year university.
Kristie Ernau: California State University, San
Francisco. Kristie has recently
been accepted to San Francisco State University and plans to play in the
upcoming 2006 season. Kristie was an asset to the Palomar team, leading the
defense as the sweeper and contributing as a team captain. Kristie was a
selection for the Pacific Coast Conference Team for 2005.
Veronica Sanchez: California State University, San
Marcos. Veronica has recently
accepted a spot on the Cougars 2006 team. She plans to continue her educated in
San Diego and help the Cougars with their inaugural season. Veronica was a
solid player for the Comets, usually solidifying the midfield positions. Her
aggression and passion for the game earned her a selection for the Pacific
Coast Conference Team for 2005.
Jamie Beam: California State University, San Marcos. Jamie has been a part of the local soccer community
for many years. Jamie coaches currently for San Marcos High School and North
County United Soccer Club. She has recently been accepted to CSUSM and looks
forward to participating in the first season available to the Cougars.
Tasha Stark: California State University, San Marcos. Tasha resides in Temecula and contributes to the
youth soccer in that area. She coaches high school as well as youth teams under
the Southwest Soccer Club. Tasha was a midfielder for the comets in the 2005
season and was a factor in the midfield and forward positions.
Brittany Quillin: California State University, San
Marcos. Brittany will continue
both her education and her collegiate soccer career to the California State
Education system in the fall of 2006. Brittany, both a goalkeeper and field
player, has a chance to help the Cougars gain success in their first season.
Amanda Nichols: Point Loma Nazarene University. Amanda has recently been accepted to PLNU in order
to continue her higher education. Amanda earned a selection on the Pacific
Coast Conference Team for the Comets in 2005 due to her strength and ability to
adapt at any position. Amanda spent a year studying in Argentina and hails from
Mt. Carmel High School.
Kylie Taylor: San Diego State University. Kylie will continue her education at SDSU in search
of her degree in Psychology. Kylie has recently been in Costa Rica doing
volunteer work and looks forward to her upcoming year at the University. Her
strength and leadership was a positive aspect of the team’s success last season
and her experience as a goalkeeper for USD was a benefit for others
understanding the dynamics of a Division 1 soccer program.
