Carlos Hernandez has
driven the Palomar men's soccer
team to the top of the Pacific
Coast Conference in his 12
seasons at the helm, winning five PCC championships.
Hernandez' 1996
team, which logged a 20-3-1
record, advanced all the way to
the state community college title
game before bowing to Santa
Barbara City College in the
finals. In 2003, the Comets
went 12-1-5 during the regular
season only to lose the
conference title to Southwestern
by two points because of five
ties.
Hernandez' 2004 side
went 14-5-3, tied for second
place in the Pacific Coast
Conference and won its first two
games in the Southern California
Regionals before losing to
eventual state champion Santa Ana
in the Regional finals.
In
2005, the Comets placed second in the
conference.
Hernandez also is head boys' coach at Escondido
