for the Comets as a true freshman and also a special

Southwestern on Sept. 6. ... Made his first community

defense and special teams at Rancho Buena Vista High,
where he played under coach Tom Haman and, later coach
Eric Jorgensen during the 2004, 2005 and 2006 seasons.
... Came up big as a sophomore when his 14 tackles
helped key a 35-7 victory over Southwest on Sept. 30,
2005. ... Had a series of big games late in his senior
season of 2007 as he helped propel the Longhorns into
the CIF-San Diego Section Division I championship game.
... Intercepted a pass and returned it 38 yards to set
up the game-clinching touchdown mid-way through the
fourth quarter as RBV defeated cross-town rival Vista
11-9 in the final game of the regular season on Nov.
9. ... Intercepted a pass and returned it for a
touchdown to get the Longhorns rolling in a win over
Calexico in the first round of the playoffs on Nov.
16. ... Broke open a close game early by blocking a punt
