2009 SEASON: J.C. Grid-Wire pre-season All-American honorable mention selection, but as of the midway point in the regular season is sidelined with a broken hand and may be unavailable the rest of the year.. ... Completed 18-of-31 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns (with no interceptions) in the Comets' first two games, but has been sidelined since with a hand injury. Also has rushed for 26 yards on four carries. ...  Played only in the first half of the Comets' 55-0 season-opening victory at Southwestern on Sept. 5 before giving way to two other quarterbacks who played the second half. Helped the Comets to a 31-0 halftime lead as  he completed 10-of-16 pass attempts for 141 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Also ran for 29 yards on three carries. ... Completed 8-of-15 passes for 168 yards in a 24-7 win over Victor Valley in week 2, on Sept. 12. Also left that game early, because of the injury.

2008 SEASON: Second-team All-Southern Division selection at quarterback as a red-shirt freshman and Player of the Game in the Golden Empire Bowl. ... Came  up big in his first starting appearance at Santa Ana on Oct. 28 as he led the Comets to a 35-0 halftime lead on the way to a 38-14 win, and started the season's final five games, despite being unable to practice due to injuries late in the season, yet stepping it up on Saturdays. ... On the season, accumulated 1,580 yards in total offense, passing for 1,131 yards and 16 touchdowns (compared with only four interceptions) in 11 games and rushing for 249 yards (including 319 positive yards) and a TD. ... Had a146.41 efficiently rating, completed 58.4 percent of his passes (104-for-178)  and averaged 4.3 yards per carry. ... Came into the Comets' season-opening 21-19 win over Southwestern on Sept. 6 and  completed three of five passes. Also rushed for 16 yards on three carries. ... Sparked Palomar offensively in a 16-0 victory over Victory Valley on Sept. 13  when he came in at halftime with the Comets at halftime and helped generate two second-half touchdowns on a pair of long drives. The Comets had a third second-half TD called back due to a penalty. Rushed for 45 yards on five carries and also was 4-for-9 passing. Set up his own 10-yard TD pass to Paul Moore to begin the second half with a 20-yard run. ... Was 6-for-7 passing with a 20-yard touchdown to Bruce Brewer in a 37-17 win over San Diego Mesa on Sept. 20. ... Passed to Marquis Powell for the winning touchdown in the fourth overtime in a 47-41 victory over College of the Desert on Sept. 27 in a battle of unbeaten teams. Also ran for a TD in the game as the Comets handed the Roadrunners their first regular-season loss since the 2006 season. ... Led a late comeback by the Comets on Oct. 11 when they fell three points short against Saddleback 24-21 after trailing 17-0. Threw touchdown passes of 8 yards to Stanley Paul and 5 yards to Martavious Lee, setting up Palomar's other touchdown with a 42-yard completion to Maurice Patterson down to the 1-yard line. He also broke off a 32-yard run. ... Completed 10-of-12 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns -- for 56 and 30 yards to Martavious Lee and 14 yards to Paul Moore -- in the first half against Santa Ana. After guiding the Comets to a 35-0 lead at halftime, was in the game for only nine third-quarter plays before exiting the game with 205 yards passing (13-for-16) and 16 yards rushing on four attempts. ... Passed for 164 yards with 15 completions on 24 attempts with no interceptions in a 20-7 win over Long Beach City College on Oct. 25. Also rushed for 52 yards (68 positive) on 11 carries. ... Passed for 178 yards and three touchdowns vs. Fullerton on Nov. 1, when he also rushed for 27 yards (including 40 positive yards) on nine carries. ... Helped lead the Comets to a 41-14 rout of Orange Coast in their regular-season finale on Nov. 8, completing 13-of-26 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns (with a long completion of 69 yards) and rushing for 18 yards on two carries. ... Won Player of the Game honors in the 8-3 Comets' 38-33 victory over Cerritos in the Golden Empire Bowl on Nov. 22 at Bakersfield by completing 20-of-29 passes for 253 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Named to the All-North County first team by the North County Times and was a first-team All-Avocado League selection as Carlsbad went 11-2 and win the 2005 CIF-San Diego Section Division I championship. ... Passed for 2,200 yards on the season with 19 touchdowns and only six interceptions. ... Also rushed for four TDs. ... Played for coach Bob McAllister for the Lancers.. ... Transferred to Carlsbad as a senior from St. Augustine High School. ... Played for the North in the Alex Spanos All-Star Classic.
