Has one brother, Eric (17), a running back at El Camino High School, and three sisters, Rolette (18), Lala (12) and Chasity (11). ... Nephew of Joe Paopao, former quarterback for Long Beach State, the British Columbia Lions, the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Ottawa Rough Roughriders and former B.C. Lions and Ottawa Renegades head coach. ... Nephew of ex-UCLA running back Anthony Paopao. ... Nephew of the late San Diego State quarterback Mickey Paopao. ... Nephew of former Utah quarterback Buck Paopao. ... Cousin of former Palomar and San Jose State defensive end Andrew Paopao. ... The fifth member of the illustrious Paopao family to play football for the Comets.

2008 SEASON: First-team All-Southern Conference selection. ... Starting outside linebacker for the Comets despite an early-season broken hand. ... Finished his sophomore season with 56 tackles (34 solo), six tackles  for losses, two sacks, three broken-up passes and a quarterback hurry. ... Contributed three tackles and a quarterback hurry in 21-19 season-opening win over Southwestern on Sept. 6. ... Playing with the fractured hand, contributed two tackles (one solo) in 16-0 victory over Victor Valley on Sept. 13. ... Contributed five tackles (four solo), a sack and a tackle for a loss as the Comets routed San Diego Mesa 37-17 on Sept. 20. ... Closed out the regular season with six tackles (four solo), including a tackle for a loss, in a 41-14 win over Orange Coast on Nov. 8. ... Ended his two-year Palomar career in style on Nov. 22 as he helped lead the 8-3 Comets past Cerritos 38-33 in the Golden Empire Bowl at Bakersfield with 11 tackles (six solo) and a broken-up pass.
